Babak Rahimi, University of California, San Diego

 Babak Rahimi is an associate professor of communication, culture and religion at the Department of Literature, UC San Diego. He is the author Theater State: Muharram Rituals and the early Modern Formation of the Iranian Public Sphere (Brill 2012). His artciles have apeared in the Interntational Journal of Middle East Studies, Journal of Middle East Studies, Communication Review, International Gazzette, and Iranian Studies.
