Carrie A. Rentschler, McGill University

Carrie Rentschler is Associate Professor and William Dawson Scholar of Feminist Media Studies in the Department of Art History and Communication Studies and Director of the Institute for Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies at McGill University.  She is author of the book Second Wounds: Victims’ Rights and the Media in the U.S. (on Duke UP, 2011) and is currently writing her next book on the 1964 Kitty Genovese murder in New York City and the social construction of the problem of bystander non-intervention.
